Stop Frame Animation

My aim for this short animation was to visually communicate the profound and impactful lyrics from the song Standing Ovation by Little Simz in a way that is inspiring, bold, full of action, and visually representative of the song’s meaning. In her song, Little Simz reflects on the slow process she went through in her career to get to where she is now, and how she is proud of herself for never giving up. She also commemorates and shines a light on other hardworking people in the world who deserve to be thanked, recognized, and celebrated (such as healers, teachers, cleaners, etc.). My goal was also to make sure the animation I made signifies themes of freedom, truth, and love. Each frame was created using a mixture of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Video editing was done using Adobe Premiere.
