Sustainable Package Design
AD 431 | Spring 2026

This project will focus on sustainable packaging design, emphasizing
communication and problem-solving. Create your own brand name/design and package design.

Products to be packed: Coffee, Tea, or other daily consumed dry food/essential needs

Markets: International Markets

  • Choose your targeted consumer groups

    Sustainable Design: Minimal materials

    Objectives:

    • Recycled packaging materials.

    • Plant-based packaging/ Plant-able packaging.

    • Edible packaging.

    • Compostable and biodegradable plastic alternatives.

    • Avoid over-packaging

For this project my aim was to create a sustainable, reusable package design that was able to combine luxury with environmentally-conscious practices. From the material to the shape of the packaging, I wanted to consider minimal packaging to save storage, a shape that was easily stackable for shipping purposes, design elements that are characteristic of luxury/modern branding, and recyclable packaging materials. In the final design, I incorporate a rich, floral, and earth-inspired color palette to properly encapsulate the brand’s identity. The cardboard packaging is intended to be used as a refillable capsule for loose tea and is refillable, with an attached tea infuser in the inside of the top lid. When it comes to travel, living sustainably, and finding high-quality, modern brands that don’t disappoint, Pinkie’s Up checks off all the boxes.
