The Art of Upcycling

Motion Design, Fall 2025

Softwares used: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Figma

In this project, my goal was to take step-by-step information on the process of upcycling and transform it into a dynamic motion design piece. The goal is to reinterpret and enhance the static content through animation, adding motion, pacing, and transitions to engage viewers in a new and exciting way.

OBJECTIVES

Design Translation:

• Reimagine the layout, typography, and imagery of a printed brochure or flyer for motion.

• Maintain the visual identity and design principles of the original print material while adapting
it for screen-based storytelling.

Motion and Animation:

• Use animation techniques (e.g., keyframing, transitions, and dynamic effects) to enhance the communication of the content.

• Create smooth and engaging transitions between sections to guide the viewer’s a_en.on.

Creative Exploration:

• Explore creative ways to represent information visually, emphasizing clarity, hierarchy, and engagement.

• Add depth and dimension through animated elements, such as text reveals, image
movements, and layering.

Technical Proficiency:

• Demonstrate skills in motion design tools (e.g., Adobe After Effects).

• Showcase effective use of timing, pacing, and synchronization with audio if applicable.
