design history booklet
For Project 3, we were asked to utilize our findings and research from our Independent Research Project as a foundation for an eight-page history booklet. We were asked to incorporate a grid system, concept, visual hierarchy, readability, etc. in order to develop a dynamic and uniform end result. The use of a bold,
red color that contrasts with black and white was not only a design choice reminiscent with the Swiss design style, but a choice made in order to preserve legibility and a visual hierarchy. Overall, I learned various technical and creative based skills throughout the making of
this history booklet and am content with the final rendition of my design.

Postcard collection
For this project, I created a series of postcards that visually communicated a potential world combining innovation, technology, and sustainability for a better future. I referenced many retro/ futuristic designs for this idea to reimagine cities that combined innovative public transportation systems, walkable routes, incorporation of greenery (on or in public buildings), and organic-looking living spaces.
Creating the different graphic elements for this collection taught me the importance
of layer organization, color usage, craftsmanship, and creating a visual hierarchy throughout each composition.

MAGAZINE SPREADS
For this project, I was asked to choose a designer or artist and create a magazine cover (with spreads) of them. My main goal was to produce a series of magazine spreads that not only encapsulated my chosen artist’s style but used various high-quality/relevant images to create engaging imagery for the viewer. Some other key aspects I wanted to focus on were ensuring a clear visual hierarchy in my spreads, readability, consistency, storytelling flow, and creativity. I found his style and personal philosophy an opportunity to create a bold, colorful, and creative set of spreads for this project.

fashion show poster design
For this project, the objective was to curate a final design solution for an 18x24 size poster based on our chosen theme/event. We were asked to select a theme/topic and create an event poster. Once I had a theme in mind, I organized research for inspiration and later documented in a process book. Thumbnail sketching, grid layouts, and experimentation with different compositions were vital in this project. When deciding on type treatment, color, and imagery, I needed to be especially critical during the digital layout/refinement stages. After many rounds of refinements and experimentation with a model for the fashion concept, I came to a successful final design solution.

Typographic poster design
For this project, I was asked to create a typographic poster design that visually embodied and communicated a feeling from a poem, lyrics, or quote. For my design, I decided to incorporate a quote from someone I greatly admire, the American astronomer and planetary scientist Carl Sagan. In one of his most awe-inspiring and thought-provoking quotes, Sagan concludes “we are all made of star stuff.” I wanted to capture his optimism and humble philosophical perspective on the cosmos in my final design solution. All designs were made using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
